Welcome to the home page of the Steeves Family Foundation. Use these pages to explore the many facets of the foundation, learn what we are doing and why as well as how you might be able to join and participate.
The foundation works using the security of the blockchain with decentralized smart contracts and apps as a hybrid traditional/decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). While the family council wields a varying degree of centralized decision making, the family individuals or units (family groups) participate using a voting process that is monitored and controlled by the Ethereum blockchain. Voting is the only mechanism for instigating organizational change, constitutional amendments, and requesting support or assistance among other things.
There is no lobbying for votes as the proposer must provide a complete proposal that addresses it best serves the foundation. Votes are issued based on completion of a questionnaire where each question should have an explanation as to the answer provided. The family council reviews the votes (or a random sampling depending on volume) for consistency and abnormalities may require further elaboration. This minimizes the ability of family units to lobby on behalf of other family units or members to push personal agendas thru. Lobbying then is more effectively employed by helping the proposer make a more succinct proposal with greater chances at getting approved.
To vote on proposals requires one SFF token per vote. SFF tokens are earned and might be considered as a reflection of your reputation within the organization. Tokens are not given out in lighthearted fashion. They are paid out based on value received. This value can be delivered in myriad different ways but never by way of any form of fiat or currency exchange. They are earned in exchange for delivery of organizational value and one should not waste their efforts on performing organizational tasks without consulting the family council or, if serving on a committee, consulting with fellow committee members.
